SANTA MONICA, CA- The sun was shining and the breeze was warm on the Monday before Thanksgiving. Media personnel, boxers and their camps flooded a nearly hidden gym on a small cul de sac in the westside of Los Angeles.

Inside of Churchill Boxing Gym, MarvNation Promotions and Legendz Entertainment hosted a media workout, giving insight into the boxer’s preparations prior to their upcoming fight this Saturday. The event will take place at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California as well as live streamed on FITE.TV pay-per-view.

Headlining the night, Jose “CHON” Zepeda (35-2-0, 27 KO’s) will be facing Regis “ROUGAROU” Prograis (27-1, 23 KO’s) in what is being promoted as, “The battle of the best.” The two will take the ring only days after Thanksgiving as they fight for the WBC World Super Lightweight title.

The co-main event of the night may prove to be even more exciting, as two women double their risks and battle for the IBF and WBO world light flyweight unified title.

Costa Rican fighter Yokasta Valle (26-2-0, 9 KO’s) will face Argentinian Evelin Nazarena Bermudez (17-0-1, 6 KO’s) in a 10 round 2-minute match.

Valle, previously fighting at minimum weight, is moving up in hopes of conquering a new weight class. The last six months have brought the fighter 2 wins and this Saturday, Valle is optimistic she will add a third under her belt with Gloria Mosquera “coach G” by her side.

Coach G and Valle united 6 weeks before her win against Lorraine Villalobos (5-4, 2 KO’s), a fight she breezed through in June of this year. After adding another win to her belt in September against Thi Thu Nhi Nguyen (5-1, 1 KO), Valle has noted improvement of connecting her punches and praised the hard work her coach has guided her through.

“Everything I thought I had, she brought more for me to the top,” stated Valle.

Although Valle acknowledges her opponent's bigger size, power and technical skill she expects to steal the show by displaying her improved skill set.

There is no talk about future opponents or goals beyond beating Valles current opponent. The champion is tunnel visioned in on her fight this Saturday.

“Right now I'm only thinking about Saturday's fight…I want to respect her [Bermudez]…I leave it in the hands of the promoters.”

Valle promises “10 rounds of explosiveness” and doesn’t shy away from the idea of a knockout.

“Of course we don’t want to say a knockout, but if a knockout comes it comes. I want to win every round. I plan to win every round by always keeping busy and always connecting with the target,” said Valle.

With 17 undefeated wins and holder of the IBF WBO light flyweight titles, Bermudez is the perfect opponent to create the explosive show that Valle is promising in the ring. It will be a battle of the champions Saturday night in Carson as the two defend their titles and display their skill.
