A stacked boxing card led by WBO super flyweight champion Mizuki “Mimi” Hiruta lured a sold-out crowd to Commerce Casino to watch the action.
Flanked by stars such as Serhii Bohachuk, Omar Trinidad and Lupe Medina the 360 Boxing Promotions card showcased Hiruta’s fourth world title defense and other potential stars on May 17.
Once again 360 Promotions demonstrated why their stable of male and female fighters rank among the best when it comes to star power and fighting skills.
Ukraine’s Bohachuk, one of the top super welters in the world, managed to track down the moving target of Mykal Fox during their 10-round affair on Saturday. It was not easy as the much taller southpaw used his length and mobility to offset Bohachuk’s power shots.
Another star in the making is East L.A.’s Trinidad who once again proved ready for top featherweight contenders. Despite facing a very strong opponent in Nicaragua’s Alexander Espinoza, he was able to dominate most of the rounds with a relentless and pounding attack.
Of course, on the women’s side there was world champion Hiruta controlling the fight from start to finish against Argentina’s talented Carla Merino to retain the WBO super fly world title by unanimous decision.
Two other female fights took place on the card including Lupe Medina showing off all her fighting skills against world title challenger Maria Santizo in a minimumweight fight. Medina was able to knock down the Guatemala standout fighter and emerge with a decision victory.
Others performed well on the fight card including Jocelyn Camarillo who engaged in a tough match against San Francisco’s Vicky Qianyue Zhao.
