Soboba Casino Fight Results

SAN JACINTO, Ca.- House of Pain So Cal Boxing, along with BXNGTV and Top Rank, took over the event center at the Soboba Casino event center Saturday night. The nearly sold-out event included seven action-packed fights.
The main event of the night was a 10-round bout between Albert Gonzalez (14-0, 7 ko’s) and Angel Antonio Contreras (16-9-2, 10 ko’s). The two featherweights sped into the first round with Contreras throwing more combinations than his heavy-hitting opponent. By the second round, Gonzalez pounded Contreras, leaving the Mexican fighter unable to respond.
Despite the heavy thuds to the body and head, Contreras continued to move forward, ducking when he could and letting go of a quick left-right to his opponent's face. In the fifth round, Gonzalez began dribbling Contreras’ face before following up with power shots to the body.
In the sixth round, Contreras fell but quickly got back up. Gonzalez continued to let his hands fly, looking for a knockout, but Contreras continued to push forward, countering until the final seconds of the last round.
The bout was scored 100-90, a unanimous decision in favor of Albert Gonzalez. Gonzalez remains undefeated with 14 victories, 7 by way of knockout.
The co-main event of the night was in the straw weight division between Kat “La Guerra Pistolera” Lindenmuth (7-4, 3 ko’s) and Brook “Mighty” Sibrian (8-2, 4 ko’s). The two female fighters took the ring for eight explosive rounds, going pound for pound.
The two went in guns blazing, without a second to catch their breath in between the speedy blows. Lindenmuth berated Sibrian's body with heavy lefts and rights before moving up on her opponent. Sibrian didn't miss a beat as she continued to counter with attacks. By the 4th round, Lindenmuth was tired as she slowed against the Coachella fighter. Sibrian remained busy, overwhelming the Albuquerque fighter with combinations. By the 7th round, Lindenmuth became unable to respond, leading to a halt by referee Ray Armendariz. The bout was deemed a knockout at 53 seconds of the 7th round. Siberian improves to 8 victories, 4 by way of knockout.
In the super welterweight division, Long Beach native Art Barrera Jr. (10-0, 7 ko’s) faced off against Jake Robinson (6-4-3, 3 ko’s) in a 6-round bout. Immediately, Barrera led the first round as the aggressor, hitting the Missouri fighter with heavy hitters to the body.
Robinson began missing as his overreach led him off balance, missing shots. Barrera Jr. continued to attack his opponent with a flurry of combinations, looking for a knockout. In the 6th round, Robinson picked up speed before Barrera Jr. sent him to the ropes, where he was unable to retaliate.
The bout was scored a unanimous decision of 60-53 in favor of Barrera Jr.
Barrera Jr remains undefeated with 10 victories, 7 by way of knockout.
In the welterweight division, Jesse “Suavecito” Zuniga (3-2, 1 KO’s) and Genesis Giwin (2-7, 1 KO’s) took the ring for a scheduled four rounds.
The fight was over in the blink of an eye as Zuniga threw a left hook that immediately knocked Giwin down flat on his back. The bout ended at 58 seconds of the 1st round, a knockout victory for Zuniga. The Banning, CA fighter improves with his 3rd victory and 1st by way of knockout.
In the flyweight division, Perla “La Vaquerita” Bazaldua (3-0, 1 ko’s) and Kedra Bradley (3-9-1, 2 ko’s) took the ring in a 4-round bout.
Bradley circled the ring as she threw jabs and single shots that Bazaldua countered with combinations. La Vaquerita worked up and down her opponent until the 4th round.
The bout was scored 40-36, a unanimous decision in favor of Bazaldua.
The Los Angeles native remains undefeated with three victories and one knockout.
Bryan Domingo (0-3-1) and Diego “Ghost” Dominguez (3-1, 1 KO’s).
The two fighters let their hands fly as they matched speed and aggression. Dominguez landed a heavy-hitting shot to the body that crippled Domingo, shooting him between the ropes. The fighters went blow for blow until the 4th and final round. The bout was scored 39-37, 40-36, a unanimous decision in favor of Diego Dominguez. Dominguez improves to 3 victories.
The first fight of the night was in the heavyweight division between Ryan “King RyRy” Diaz (1-1) and Gabriel Costello (1-1, 1 KO).
Diaz immediately landed a heavy left hook that shocked the crowd. Costello quickly became sucked into his opponent's body, sneaking in left jabs. By the 2nd round, Costello landed a hard right hook before once more becoming overpowered and ducking into Diaz’s body. Diaz continued to overwhelm Costello with jabs followed by heavy hooks that left Costello unable to retaliate.
Costello let off a heavy left shot that appeared to take his power, before Diaz responded with a flurry of combinations that went uncountered. The bout was scored 39-37, 40-36, a decision in favor of Diaz. Diaz earns his 1st victory after suffering a debut loss in March.
