Tom Loeffler's 360 Promotions’ “Hollywood Fight Nights” returns Friday January 17th to the Commerce Casino. The event will host ten bouts and be broadcasted worldwide on UFC fight pass.
East L.A. native, Omar Trinidad (17-1-0) will defend his WBC Continental Americas title in a main event match against Mike Plania (31-4, 18 KO’s). The two fighters will take the ring for a scheduled 10 rounds in the featherweight division.
“I feel great, I'm ready to fight next week. It feels good to be one of the contenders and will be defending my belt for the first time…I know he has a sharp left hand and a good right hand too. He's a little shorter so I could probably keep my distance, but he's a well-seasoned fighter. He's fought big names and I'm trying to get the knowledge and experience from him so if I can hopefully get a knockdown and put on a show,” said Trinidad.
In a co-main event, WBO world super flyweight champion Mizuki Hiruta will take the ring in her American debut against Maribel Ramirez (15-4-10). Hiruta hails from Japan as she fights out of Manny Robles’ South Gate gym. The 28-year-old has been professionally fighting since 2021 and won female Fighter of the Year 2022 and 2023 in Japan.
“Manny and the whole team give me a lot of love, so this time is my time to give it back,” said Hiruta.
The southpaw fighter sports hot pink hair that she pairs with vibrant “kawaii” attire. The undefeated fighter has six victories and two knockouts as she takes on veteran fighter Ramirez. Ramirez, hailing from Mexico, is ten years older than Hiruta and has 15 victories, with only three by way of knockout.
“I’m so happy and excited, a little nervous. Even though it's 115 weight class, I want to show an explosive fight,” Hiruta said.
Super middleweight contender Ali Akhmedov (22-1, 16 KOs) will go 10-rounds against Malcolm Jones (17-4-1, 10 KOs).
The bout card will include two more female fights, making three of ten matches female. In the flyweight division, Gloria Munguilla (6-1) will face off against Brook Sibrian (5-1, 2 KOs) in an eight-round match. Roxy “Right Hook” Verduzco will take the ring against Lindsey Ellis (2-1, 2 KO’s) for six rounds.
