One of the top providers of Southern California boxing returns with Red Boxing Promotions bringing a large fight card called Evolution 4: the Road to Glory this weekend.

A bevy of talent led by undefeated bantamweight Adrian Alvarado and two female bouts headlines the fight card at the Commerce Casino in Commerce, Calif. on Saturday Feb. 12. Tickets are still available but selling fast on Super Bowl weekend.

Alvarado (5-0, 3 Kos) meets hard nosed Sergio Lopez (4-7-3) in a bantamweight scrap set for six rounds. Lopez has never been stopped despite fighting the likes of bantamweight contender Saul Sanchez. On paper it looks to be a showstopper.

Two female bouts are set with Merari “Dinamita” Vivar (4-0) of nearby East Los Angeles fighting for the first time on American soil. She will meet Elizabeth Tuani (1-5) who went the distance with former amateur star Mia Ellis. It should be a worthy test for both.

Women’s boxing has risen to spectacular heights the past few years. Expect a large turnout for fans who follow women’s boxing.

Another female fighter set to perform will be Stephanie Chavez who is making her professional debut. She will be fighting Dawn Mazarakis (0-1) in a super flyweight matchup.

Several other well-matched fights will also take place that include Brandon Cruz, Jesus Guzman, Jose Elias, Mario Aguirre, Francisco Casillas, Larry Serrano, Joshua Garcia, Alexis Alvarado, Anel Dudo, Kevin Nunez and Ernesto Mercado.

It should be pretty exciting stuff.

Commerce Casino has long been a place to watch boxing. There is plenty of free parking around the casino grounds. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Important! A Covid vaccination card is needed or a negative Covid test within the last 24 hours to enter the fight card.
