LOS ANGELES-Two of the most dangerous punchers in the sport eagerly agreed to face each other in August.

Undefeated Vergil Ortiz (21-0, 21 Kos) will challenge interim WBC super welterweight titlist Serhii Bohachuk (24-1, 23 Kos) on Aug. 10, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Golden Boy Promotions and 360 Promotions will promote the clash that will be streamed on DAZN.

No argument that Bohachuk and Ortiz are the hardest hitters in the business. Between the two super welterweights only one fight resulted in a decision. They both hate the judges.

Just kidding.

But it’s obvious that both gladiators prefer putting their opponents to sleep. When you combine their records of a total of 46 fights, only one ended in a decision. That happened in Bohachuk’s last fight when he defeated Brian Mendoza to win the interim title.

One added asterisk to this fight is that at one time Bohachuk and Ortiz were both trained by Manny Robles. They also sparred numerous rounds against each other.

“Sparring is not fighting,” said Bohachuk, adding that fights are always different.

Ortiz now trains with Robert Garcia again in Riverside. He agrees with Bohachuk that sparring does not mean a thing. It’s when you get in the ring for real.

“It’s going to be a war,” promises Ortiz.

Vergil Ortiz Jr. has never participated in a fight that ended in a decision.
