Marvnation Promotions first ¨Box Fest¨ of 2022. The sold-out event took place at The Derby Room in Pomona, California.

Rodriguez, a fan favorite of the entire crowd, appeared in disbelief at times of the endurance of his opponent. As an outsider, Marrufo shocked viewers by giving his opponent the most difficult challenge of his professional career.

Although the 25- fight veteran, Marrufo, proved to be a challenge, Rodriguez never appeared to let up, pushing his endurance until the very end.

Marrufo fought with the heart of a thousand warriors, as if it was a life or death situation and he had no intention of dying. Gunning for every angle of Rodriguez’s body, it was clear the Sonoran fighter was landing more powerful punches. The crowd cheered with every retaliation from Rodriguez.

In the co main event, a super lightweight clash between Antonio Wattell (3-8-3, 1 KO) and Alejandro ¨Pin Pon¨Reyes (6-0, 4 KOs). The 6 round match was a tough matchup for Reyes as Texan Wattell displayed sturdier hits. The unwavering of Wattell led to an erratic style for Reyes who attempted to out-speed his opponent.

Wattell proved to be a tough fight as he used every opportunity to counter Reyes, at times landing more critical hits. Smaller in frame, Reyes amped up his endurance and moved with unpredictability as he tried to break down his unphased match.

The bout surprisingly lasted the entire 6 rounds and was unanimously scored in favor of Reyes. The Mexicali fighter remains undefeated with 6 professional wins

It wasn’t until the third round that a hesitant Phillips landed an impactful punch, mostly testing the waters with fake jabs while Erwin worked combos to the face and body. Phillips knocked down Erwin in the very last second of the fight but in no way made up for his lack of scoring in the earlier rounds.
