ONTARIO, Ca.-Big banging former champions Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa and Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo will match firepower to see who will be standing when the smoke disappears.

Figueroa (23-1-1, 18 Kos) moves up in weight to face former featherweight champ Magsayo (24-1, 18 Kos) on Saturday March 4, at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif. to see who wins the WBC featherweight title and a crack at the world champion. Showtime will televise.

Both Figueroa and Magsayo both held world titles and lost very close decisions. They both want to be world champions again and are willing to shoot it out like a couple of gunslingers.

One former champ Brandon Figueroa has never been dropped. One former champion Mark Magsayo is the naturally bigger guy in terms of weight. Both feel they will be victorious.

Also, on the card will be yet another former champ Jarret Hurd (24-2) looking to re-assert himself in a heavier weight division. The former super welterweight titlist is moving up to the middleweight level and fights Mexico’s Armando Resendiz (13-1) in a bout set for 10 rounds.

“I hope fans leave saying it was a great fight,” said Resendiz who trains with Manny Robles.

Another middleweight clash pits Uruguay’s Amilcar Vidal (16-0) versus Elijah Garcia (13-0) in 10 round fight expected to not be for the squeamish.

Many other fights are scheduled to take place and doors open at 3 p.m. Pacific Time.
