Clash of Rivals in L.A. and Indio on Golden Boy Cards

LOS ANGELES-An exciting eight round lightweight main -event featuring two southern Californian favorites Javier Molina (17-2, 8 KO) of Norwalk and Jessie Roman of Santa Ana (22-3, 11 KO) takes place on Friday June 1 for L.A. Fight Club.
Molina, a U.S. National Champion, has been inactive for two years since January 2016 and makes his return to the ring against Roman, whom is coming from two straight wins. Both fighters are confident in taking home the win this Friday at Belasco Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California.
Golden Boy Promotions held a media day on Tuesday, May 29th, at the Wild Card boxing gym in Hollywood, California for several exciting prospects of boxing. Fights are set for another great show with a main event title fight: Mercito Gesta (31-2-2, 17 KO) of San Diego, CA and Robert Manzanrez (35-1, 28 KO) of Phoenix, AZ in a 10-round bout on June 14, at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California.
Proud Philippines native, Gesta is currently training out of Wild Card Boxing Gym in Hollywood, CA, with boxing superstar trainer Freddie Roach. He will be going toe-to-toe for the NABO lightweight title.
Gesta, after his January 27th loss against Jorge Linares, speaks highly of his come back to the ring and training, “It feels like this is the place that I need to be. Freddie and I just click. He knows what he’s doing. And I feel confident”.
Also, being featured in a super featherweight bout is Coachella Valley’s own elite fighter, Rommel Caballero (1-0-1). Rommel, the youngest of the three Caballero brothers, is making his own path to become a World Champion. He is set to fight Ricardo Fernandez (3-8-4) of Mexico.
In the co-main event on Thursday, June 14, two more rival Los Angeles, Californian boxers Manny Robles lll (15-0, 7 KO) and Edgar Valerio (13-0, 8 KO) will duke it out for the vacant NABF featherweight title in a 10-rounder. Both fighters are currently undefeated, one of them will come out on top leaving the other with their first loss.
Former five- time United States National champion, Luis Feliciano (6-0, 2 KO) faces Daniel Montoya (11-6, 8-5 KO) of Mexico in an eight round Super lightweight bout. Feliciano is currently training with veteran boxing trainer Ben Lira out of South El Monte, CA . “We expect a war. It’s going to be a great fight. We want to be intelligent and come out with the victory,” says Feliciano. “It’s a dream come true to be out here in California and once I step into the ring I will take full advantage.”
Herbert Acevedo (14-2, 6 KO) native of Kansas and David Thomas (6-2-1, 2 KO) of Texas will battle it out in a six-round super lightweight fight, “For the fight fans, you can expect an inside-rounder fighter and boxing fighter. I have a good style and I can’t wait to show that”, exclaims Acevedo.
We expect history in the making at both fight cards in Los Angeles, CA at the historic Belasco Theatre on June 1 and at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, CA on June 14, 2018.
