Oscar “El Jaguar” Negrete comes back to the ring for Golden Boy Promotions edition of LA FIGHT CLUB, after his first loss at Madison Square Gardens against Rey Vargas (32-0, 22 KO).
Columbia’s Negrete (17-1, 7 KO) will face Mexico’s Diul “Elegante” Olguin (13-9, 9-3 KO) in an eight-round bantamweight bout this Friday, July 6th at the Belasco Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California.
“What happened in December against Rey Vargas was a great opportunity. I couldn’t say no to a world championship fight,” says Negrete, after he went from his original weight class to fight in a super bantamweight world championship title shot against Vargas but suffered his first loss.
“Now I’m back at 118 pounds (bantamweight). Olguin is a great fighter. He’s going to come with everything to test me,” says Negrete.
Olguin comes from an impressive history of giving his opponents tough battles and this Friday will be no different against Negrete.
A co-main event was scheduled to have Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada fight in a light flyweight battle, however her fight was moved to July 20th in Cancun, Mexico.
Now, the co-main event has southpaw Rigoberto Hermosillo (11-0-1, 8 KO) versus Ernesto Guerrero (29-22, 19 KO) in an eight-round super featherweight battle.
The fights will be televised live on Estrella TV, starting with the television opener: Raul
“Cougar” Curiel (3-0, 2 KO) who will put his undefeated record on the line against Demetrius Wilson (2-7, 0-2 KO) in a four-round welterweight battle.
