By Uppercut Magazine staff

An ambitious fight card featuring many of Southern California’s hottest prospects takes place Saturday July 20, at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, Calif. Red Boxing International is the promoter.

Among those seeking to be the next super stars are Pablo Rubio who lives and trains in nearby Whittier.

Red Boxing has been staging boxing shows in Southern California for more than a year and bring a special flavor to its fight cards. They have put on several shows at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena which is an outdoor venue 100 yards from the San Gabriel River.

Usually the Sports Arena is the site for concerts and rodeos, but since Red Boxing’s arrival you can add prizefighting too.

Pablo Rubio (11-0) is making a return to the venue and will have many of his fans and supporters rooting hard for the local prizefighter. The all-action professional boxer is scheduled to fight veteran Mike Fowler (7-21) in a six round featherweight match. The fighter from Milwaukee lasted five rounds with the talented Devin Haney. It’s one of the key fights on a solid boxing card.

Others slated to fight are Axel Aragon Vega, Saul Bustos, Martin Urias and Frank Castillo among others.
