High Voltage Photos (all photos by Al Applerose)

Irish middleweight contender Jason Quigley appeared at the first Golden Boy Promotions fight card at Belasco for 2017.  Quigley will be fighting Glen Tapia in March at Fantasy Springs Casino. Many consider Quigley one of the best middleweights without a world title.

In the main event Joshua Franco showed some of the moves he learned at Robert Garcia Boxing Academy. A crushing five-punch combination ended the night for Victor Pasillas in their super flyweight clash. It was the main event.

Ryan "Kingry" Garcia opened up February 2017 with a bang. After some big exchanges with the quick-fisted southpaw Devon Jones, it was all downhill for Garcia who knocked down Jones several times before delivering the coup de gras in the second round. The tall lightweight remains undefeated.

David Mijares earned a hard fought win in his six round battle with Eviinci Dixon. Mijares is a super lightweight out of Santa Monica, Calif by way of Pasadena. This February bout was his first of the year.

Many of the fans attending the first fight show at Belasco were there for Ryan "Kingry" Garcia. The two women in this photo were sporting their "Kingry" t-shirts.

East L.A.'s Jonathan Navarro had a spirited battle with Houston's Angel Rodriguez. Their six round super lightweight encounter was a brutal display of tactical warfare. Navarro was the slightly busier fighter and needed to be against Rodriguez. The Texan had faced numerous contenders and his experience showed.
