Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz (31-1) pulled ahead with a persistent and steady attack over Germany’s very tough Christian Hammer (24-6) to win by unanimous decision in an entertaining 10 round fight. Also, Mexico’s Eduardo Ramirez (22-1-3) knocked out Panama’s Bryan De Gracia (24-2-1) in the ninth round of a featherweight fight in Brooklyn, New York.

Mexico’s Mariana “Barby” Juarez (52-9-4) had too much for Spain’s Eva Naranjo (15-1) a former kickboxing world champion in nearly winning every round by unanimous decision on Saturday March 2. Juarez, 39, was too skillful for 40-year-old Naranjo who was handed her first professional defeat. It was Juarez’s seventh defense of the WBC bantamweight world title since winning it on April 1, 2017.

WBA titlist Brian Castano (15-0-1) retained the title after 12 rounds with a split decision draw against Cuba’s Erislandy Lara (25-3-3) in a super welterweight fight on Saturday March 2. The fight took pace at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Super bantamweight Antonio Russell (13-0) won by technical knockout in the sixth round over Jose Maria Cardenas (16-4).
