Puerto Rican veteran Edwin Rodriguez was matched against undefeated Mexican fighter Saul Sanchez in a bantamweight title fight.

Lightning quick left-hander Blair Cobbs engaged in a heated battle with Steve Villalobos in a battle between undefeated welterweights at Fantasy Springs Casino. 

Welterweight Steve Rodriguez pummeled Ryan Picou relentlessly in winning by unanimous decision after four one-sided rounds at Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, Calif.

The Boricua battled from behind and out-smarted the younger Sanchez to win by split decision at Corona, California on the Thompson Boxing Promotions card.

Cobbs, who fights out of Las Vegas. was knocked down in the fight but battled back to floor Villalobos twice and eventually win by knockout in a sizzling battle. Both fighters are under the Golden Boy Promotions banner.

Undefeated lightweight prospect Daniel Cruz showed quickness and agility in defeating Phillip Bounds in a four round bout at Pico Rivera Sports Arena.

A battle between welterweights in Corona ended in a draw after six back and forth rounds between Demarcus Layton of Arkansas and Luis Lopez of Corona. It was a fitting end on the Thompson Boxing Promotions fight card.
