SOUTH EL MONTE, Ca.- The inside of the South El Monte Recreation Center gym that hosted the 360 Promotions media, was as humid as an August Florida day. The steam was fogging the eyeglasses of journalists and coating boxers in a pool of sweat. As boxers took their positions in the ring and around the gym, members of the media snapped action shots and got to know the fighters who would be taking the ring, at the 8th 360 Promotions’ Hollywood Fight Night. The monthly event will take place Sunday, July 28th at the Avalon nightclub in Hollywood.

Uppercut Magazine spoke with the main event fighter for the upcoming fight, super welterweight, Serhii “El Flaco” Bohachuk (14-0, 14 KO’s).  Bohachuk will be going against Mexican fighter Fernando “El Cacho” Marin (16-3-3, 12 KO’s) in a 10 round bout, headlining the event. The 24-year old Ukrainian born fighter, fighting out of Big Bear, California will be making his sixth appearance at ‘Hollywood Fight Night.’

The knockout artist extraordinaire gave us insight on his preparation and dedicated lifestyle, including a strict training regimen. The rising fighter, who has been boxing for 10 years, maintains his physique with a strict low calorie diet, making sure his meat is free of fat and meals are without salt. The athlete is so dedicated to his diet that he is also his own chef, being the only one who prepares his meals and sometimes even for others around him. Some of his favorite meals include barbeque beef and Ukrainian borscht, which he has been unable to find locally made.

Uppercut also spoke with the man behind the event, Tom Loeffler about where he sees the talented Bohachuk heading in the near future.

“This is his (Bohachuk) first 10 round fight. If he does well, we will step him up for a regional title,” said Loeffler who also helped Gennady “GGG” Golovkin become a super star attraction.

Loeffler also commended Bohachuk’s dedication to fighting and progression in his English language development.

Co-headlining the event in the lightweight division will be San Diego native, Mario ‘El Matador’ Ramos (8-0-0, 7 KO’s) against Thorton, Colorado native Jose ‘Commandante’ Morales(8-8-0, 2 KO’s).
