Two female prize fights took place at Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, Calif. Adelaida Ruiz vs Mikayla Nebel in a super fly bout; and lightweights Chelsey Anderson vs Tess Kielhamer

Team Adelaida Ruiz walked into the arena looking to extend their eight-fight win streak on Saturday Oct. 12, at Pico Rivera Sports Arena. Known as "La Cobra", the super flyweight has an small army of fans that follow her every fight. She walked into the boxing ring undefeated against Las Vegas veteran Mikayla Nebel.

Ruiz was relentless with her attack especially in the second round. Somehow Nebel absorbed heavy blows and kept her composure under the powerful blows by Ruiz.

Ruiz lowered her attack to the body and found more openings for her fast combinations. Nebel could not block every attack but was able to hang tough. Half of Ruiz's opponents have been knockout victims, but not on this night.

A lightweight clash saw Chelsey Anderson power by Tess Kielhamer with a barrage of right hands in the first round. Though Kielhamer never went down it was stopped in the first round.

La Cobra started fast and used her quick combinations to overwhelm Nebel in the first round. But Nebel's experience against elite fighters like Heather Hardy and Shelly Vincent helped her withstand the early storm.

Nebel made several stands against Ruiz and was willing to trade blows against the fast-fisted super flyweight from L.A. Nebel landed some solid blows of her own.

After six vicious rounds Ruiz (9-0, 4 KOs) was declared the winner by unanimous decision. All three judges scored it 60-54 for Ruiz whose hand was raised by referee Daniel Sandoval. Ruiz is ready for contention.

A smiling Anderson (2-0) was declared the victor by knockout in the first round over Kielhamer (0-1).

One of the highlights of the Red Boxing International fight card was the arrival of Angel Israel Rodriguez on a horse. Rodriguez later won his pro fight by knockout.
